Natural materials and craftsmanship
Is the wool in your mattresses natural?
Yes. Every Woollux mattress is filled with 100% natural, OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100-certified wool.
Which mattress cover fabrics can I choose?
Choose from OEKO-TEX-certified linen, OEKO-TEX-certified virgin-wool fabric and GOTS-certified organic-cotton fabric. Select your preferred cover in the product configurator.
Do your mattresses contain foam, latex or springs?
Our mattresses use natural wool filling without polyurethane foam, latex or springs. We also use no glue, added fragrances or added chemical flame retardants.
Where are Woollux mattresses made?
We handcraft every mattress in Bulgaria. Each one is made to order, filled with natural wool and hand-tufted to help keep the filling evenly distributed.
Does a wool mattress have a scent?
Natural wool can have a mild lanolin scent when new. This gradually fades with airing. We add no fragrance to mask the natural materials.
Choosing your mattress
What does a wool mattress feel like?
A wool mattress provides firm support with gentle natural cushioning. It has less sink than memory foam, so you rest closer to the surface. Greater thickness adds cushioning while preserving the supportive feel.
Which thickness is right for me?
Use these as starting points:
- 3 in (8 cm): the firmest, most minimal feel.
- 5 in (13 cm): a balance of firm support and cushioning.
- 7 in (18 cm): the most cushioning, especially worth considering for side sleeping.
Your body weight and preferred feel also influence the choice.
Is a wool mattress suitable for side sleepers?
Yes, particularly if you enjoy a supportive mattress. Side sleepers often choose 7 in (18 cm) for greater cushioning around the shoulders and hips.
Does wool help with sleeping temperature?
Wool naturally absorbs and releases moisture, helping create a comfortable sleeping environment. Breathable sheets, a suitable protector and airflow beneath the mattress complement these properties.
What is the difference between a wool mattress and a wool topper?
A mattress provides your main sleeping surface and support. A topper sits on a mattress to add cushioning. Choose a mattress when you need a new bed surface, or a topper when you want to adjust your current mattress's feel.

Can I try the materials before ordering?
Yes. Our 40 × 40 cm mattress sample lets you feel the cover fabric, the wool and hand-tufted construction. Its cost is credited toward your first mattress order.

Production and delivery
How long does it take to make my mattress?
Production usually 7 - 10 business days. Your mattress is then dispatched for delivery. If you need it by a particular date, let us know before ordering so we can check the timing.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery time depends on your destination and begins after production. Send us your country and postcode for an estimated delivery before you order. See delivery information.
Is shipping included, and will I have to pay import charges?
Worldwide shipping and applicable customs duties and import taxes are included. You do not need to budget separately for these delivery charges.
Will I receive tracking information?
Yes. We email your tracking information when your order ships so you can follow its progress.
Using and caring for your mattress
What bed base should I use?
A supportive slatted base provides both support and airflow. Choose gaps no wider than 2 in (5 cm).
Can I use a wool mattress on the floor?
Yes. Place it on a clean, dry surface and lift it regularly so the underside can air. A foldable mattress is particularly convenient when you want to put your bed away during the day.
Will the wool compress?
Natural wool typically settles by approximately 10 - 15% during the first few months. We allow for this by overfilling each mattress. Hand-tufting helps hold the wool in place, while rotation and flipping encourage even settling.
How often should I rotate and flip my mattress?
Rotate and flip your mattress every month to distribute use across both sides and ends. Read our care guide.
How do I clean a wool mattress?
Blot spills promptly, then spot-clean with a lightly damp cloth and a small amount of wool-safe detergent. Avoid soaking the filling, and let the mattress dry completely before replacing your bedding.
Should I use a mattress protector?
Yes. A breathable protector helps keep your mattress clean and protects it from everyday wear.
Returns and warranty
Can I return my mattress?
You can request a return within 30 days of delivery for eligible standard-size products. Custom and personalized products are non-returnable. Customers arrange and pay for returns unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect.

What does the five-year warranty cover?
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and care. If you need help with a possible defect, send us your order details, a description and clear photos. View the warranty terms.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?
